Our 39th Anniversary. Ron surprised me with an incredible three-day trip around the stunning Bay Area, a gesture that truly made this milestone memorable. We set off from the our slip in Emeryville, our hearts filled with excitement and anticipation for the adventure ahead. As we cruised north toward Richardson Bay, the atmosphere was serene, and the wind was light, creating a perfect backdrop for our journey.

By mid-afternoon, the wind had completely died down, leaving the Bay unusually calm and inviting. The warm sun bathed the water in a golden hue, and the surface was so flat that it it would make for the ideal conditions for water skiing. At one point during our voyage, we decided to take a refreshing break and jumped out of the boat for a quick swim. The water was not too cold, and the experience was invigorating.

After approximately five hours of leisurely sailing, we arrived at our destination, Benicia. There, we indulged in a lovely dinner at Bella Siena, a delightful restaurant known for its beautiful view and delicious cuisine. The meal was a highlight of our trip, filled with laughter and reminiscences of our life together. After dinner, we spent the night at the Benicia Marina, where the gentle rocking of the water lulled us to sleep. The next morning, we enjoyed a leisurely cup of coffee at a local coffee shop, savoring the peaceful morning before we set off again.

We departed the marina and headed toward Sausalito, eager to see what the day would bring. Along the way, we were treated to a breathtaking sail along the iconic San Francisco city front, with stunning views of the skyline and the Golden Gate Bridge. The beauty of the Bay was on full display, and we took in every moment with gratitude. Once we arrived in Sausalito, we had a casual outdoor dinner at Le Garage, a charming waterfront restaurant that offered delicious food and a relaxed atmosphere. The evening was filled with good conversation and the joy of being together in such a picturesque setting. After a delightful meal, we settled in for the night at Schoonmaker Point Marina, where the peaceful surroundings provided a perfect end to our day. In the morning, we took a stroll to downtown Sausalito, soaking in the quaint shops and vibrant atmosphere. We decided to stop for coffee at Equator Coffee, a local favorite known for its exceptional brews. The aroma of freshly roasted coffee filled the air, and we enjoyed our drinks while reflecting on the wonderful experiences we had shared during our trip. This anniversary getaway was not just a celebration of our years together but also a reminder of the beauty of the world around us and the joy of creating lasting memories on Viva la Vida.
